What the AI survey maker can create

Describe what you want to learn and who you are asking. The AI drafts a ready-to-edit survey for every common research job.

AI that improves survey quality

The AI does more than fill in blanks. It actively makes the draft better before you see it.

  • 1.
Shortens long questions. Twenty-word questions lose respondents. The AI trims to the minimum that preserves meaning.
  • 2.
Flags leading wording. "Don't you agree that…" is a bad survey question. The AI notes these and suggests neutral rewrites.
  • 3.
Suggests balanced answer choices. Scales like "Poor / Fair / Good / Very good / Excellent" are balanced. The AI avoids stacking the positive end.
  • 4.
Recommends a better question order. Easy questions first, sensitive questions later, demographics at the end — the draft follows that logic.
  • 5.
Converts vague goals into measurable questions. "I want to know if people like the new feature" becomes three specific, answerable questions.

You stay in control

AI gives you a draft. You approve, edit, delete, reorder, and publish. Nothing publishes until you publish. The AI does not name your survey, schedule it, or share it — it writes a starting point you can rip apart if it gets it wrong. The editing tools are exactly the same whether you used AI or typed every question yourself.

Example prompts

You don't need a perfect prompt — a clear one is enough. Here are four that work well.

  • "Create an anonymous 5-question employee pulse survey."

  • "Create an NPS survey for customers who just completed onboarding."

  • "Create a post-event feedback survey for a webinar."

  • "Create a product feedback survey for beta users."

Privacy note

Pulseware sends only your prompt to OpenAI. Respondent answers are never sent to any AI provider. We do not use respondent answers to train AI models — yours or anyone else's — without explicit per-survey opt-in.

Common questions

Specifically about AI survey generation on Pulseware.

Can AI write the whole survey for me?
Yes. Describe the goal, audience, length, tone and any must-ask topics, and Pulseware can draft the survey structure, questions and answer choices. Treat it as a draft and edit it before publishing.
Can I change the AI-generated questions?
Yes. Every question can be edited, removed, reordered or rewritten in the Builder. You can also adjust answer choices before you approve and publish the final survey.
Does the AI make anonymous surveys?
It can draft anonymous-friendly wording, such as avoiding names and email addresses. You still need to use the appropriate anonymous survey setting and check the final questions yourself, especially for small teams or sensitive topics.
What should I include in my prompt?
Include the survey goal, audience, preferred length, tone and any topics that must be covered. For example: 'Create a 6-question customer satisfaction survey for users who finished onboarding. Keep it friendly and include one open-ended question.'
Are responses used to train AI?
The current answer is maintained in Pulseware's AI Data Policy. Review that page before entering confidential, personal or sensitive information into an AI prompt or survey draft.
